How to play

Objective

Be the first to dump all your cards. The last player still holding cards is the Dummkopf.

Players & deal

2–4 players (or you + bots). Every seat gets 3 face-down table cards (blind), 3 face-up on top of them, and a hand that scales with the table:

  • 2 players: 5 cards in hand
  • 3 players: 4 cards in hand
  • 4 players: 3 cards in hand

Swap phase

Before play starts, you may swap cards between your hand and your face-up table cards (same number each way). Confirm when ready. Everyone must be ready before the first turn.

How you play

On your turn, play one or more cards of the same rank that beat the current discard constraint (or any card when the pile is empty / after RESET).

Play from one source at a time, in order:

  1. Hand — while you still have cards in hand
  2. Face-up — when your hand is empty (and the draw pile is empty, or after you’ve finished drawing up)
  3. Face-down (blind) — when no face-up cards remain; flip one card. If it’s illegal, you pick up the discard pile.

After a legal play from hand, draw back up toward your hand size while cards remain in the draw pile.

You may always pick up the whole discard pile instead of playing (your turn then ends).

Beating the pile

Normal ranks must be equal or higher than the top constraint (powers aside). Same ranks may be played together (e.g. three 9s).

Power cards

  • 2 — RESET: Playable on anything. Clears the constraint so the next player may play any card.
  • 5 — GO LOW: Forces the next play to be strictly below Five (or another power).
  • 10 — BURN: Clears the discard into the burn pile. Turn then passes (no bonus turn).

Four of a kind

If the top of the discard shows four of the same rank in a row, the pile burns and you get a bonus turn.

Winning

Empty hand, face-up, and face-down to finish. When only one player still has cards, that player is the Dummkopf and the game ends.
