Out of Office

Goal

Be the first to reach the match score (usually 5). Each round one player is the Judge; everyone else submits a caption for the meme. The Judge picks the funniest caption — that player scores 1 point.

Setup

• 3–8 players on phones (or browsers).
• One player Hosts a room and shares the 4-letter code.
• Others Join with code (email verify may be required via GameHub).
• Optional: Presenter mode on a TV or cast screen shows the board display-only (no player seat).

Each round

1. A meme appears. Non-judges each pick 1 of 5 caption cards.
2. You may New phrases up to 2 times per match to redraw your whole hand (before you submit).
3. When everyone has submitted, the Judge sees captions anonymously and picks a winner.
4. The winning caption and name are revealed. Everyone taps Continue before the next round deals.
5. The Judge role rotates, hands refill to 5, and a new meme appears.

Winning the match

First to the target score wins. Players can raise the target and keep playing, or leave.

Tips

• Save redraws for a terrible hand — you only get two per match.
• Wait for the reveal; don’t rush Continue until you’ve enjoyed the winner.
• Use Presenter mode if you want a shared screen for the room.
