Build Words. Create Meaning. Win! — Arrange word tiles into phrases, peer-review submissions, and race to the target score.

Goal
Play with friends in a shared room. The host picks either:
- Score race — first player to reach the target score (e.g. 30 / 50 / 100) wins. Anyone can submit anytime.
- Phrase out — turn-based. Each turn you may draw one card and must discard one to end the turn (after drawing). Approved phrases are not refilled. First player to empty their hand wins.
Setup
- Enter a display name on Phrase Craft.
- Host a room (choose word decks, win mode, optional extras) or Join with a 4-character code / QR from the host.
- When everyone is in the lobby, the host taps Start game.
Each player is dealt 10 word tiles. Decks can be merged; hands aim for a mix of verbs and prepositions when those roles are tagged.
Your turn (Score race)
- Tap tiles from your hand to build a phrase (at least 2 words).
- Tap Submit. Words leave your hand while others review.
- Everyone else Approves or Rejects. Majority decides. If time runs out (or there are no voters), a structurally valid phrase is accepted.
Reject returns the words to your hand. Approve discards them and scores points equal to the letters in the phrase (spaces ignored), then draws back up toward 10 tiles.
Your turn (Phrase out)
- On your turn, tap Draw a card (once) to take a tile from the deck.
- Optionally build and Submit a phrase (peer review works the same as Score race).
- After you draw, tap Discard a card & end turn, then choose one tile to discard. That ends your turn.
- If you submit without drawing, the turn passes after the review resolves.
- If you drew and still have cards after a review, discard to finish your turn.
No refill after approved phrases — empty your hand to win.
Your in-progress phrase draft is kept while you vote on someone else’s submission.
Optional house rules
If the host enables card replacements, each player may swap up to 30 cards total during the game — one or more at a time, or a full hand — by tapping Replace.
Tips
- Share the room code or QR so guests join quickly.
- Shorter phrases are safer in Phrase out when you’re racing to empty.
- Longer, letter-rich phrases score more in a points race.
